349th Delayed Enlistment Development and Training Flight
TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- One of the elite maintenance team of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds "high fives" a new Air Force enlistee July 30. More than 60 young men and women stood as a group on the Travis AFB flight line, during the 2011 Air Power Expo, and were sworn into the Air Force. For those choosing the Reserve, Travis is one of five pilot bases launching a Delayed Enlistment Development and Training Flight. While awaiting a report date to basic military training, enlistees will report to the 349th Air Mobility Wing Flight Leader, Master Sgt. Heather Bradley, for training that will help them make the transition from civilian to Airman. Wearing blue Air Force Reserve tee shirts and blue jeans, they will report on Saturdays of A and B Flight UTA at 7:20 a.m., to the Airman Leadership School. Their curriculum will include uniform standards and inspections, drill and ceremony, Air Force heritage, physical training and more. Right now, there are about 80 enlistees in the program. Volunteers are sought to assist with the training and mentoring. Please contact Sergeant Bradley at 424-1693, or email her at heather.bradley@us.af.mil. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Master Sgt.
