Eagle Creek Trail fire

Tech. Sgt. Robert Dones, 349th Medical Squadron surgical technician, poses for portrait at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., on Sept. 9, 2017. On Sept. 2, Dones went hiking on the Eagle Creek Trail in the Columbia River Gorge near Portland, Ore. While on the hike, a forest fire broke out. Dones helped gather a group of hikers who were stranded on the trail with the fire separating them from their way back. Approximately 150 hikers were led to safety aided by Dones.
