TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Pedals flying: Tammy Jankowski, a fitness trainer at the Travis AFB gym, instructs a “spin” class as part of the “Taste of Fitness” program. Developed to promote fitness, this program gives military members a taste of the variety of exercise classes available at the gym. Taking advantage of this “spin” class was: (left to right) Sgt. 1st Class Sheila Joseph, Human Resources, 402nd Field Artillery Brigade; Master Sgt. Rene Snider, maintenance training manager for the 349th Maintenance Operation Flight, and Airman 1st Class Tara Draper, a cardio pulmonary technician for the 60th Medical Operations Squadron. This class is offered every quarter on Saturday of both Unit Training Assemblies from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The two-hour class introduces four types of exercises during four 30-minute segments. On this day the agenda included classes in: spin cycling, step aerobics, turbo kick boxing, and combined Pilates/Yoga exercises.
