Ex Bronco 12

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Between April 16 and 21, Airmen and Marines came together in Exercise Bronco at Schoonover Landing Zone, Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif. The exercise was set up to test the capabilities of the 615th Contingency Response Wing, Travis Air Force Base, to respond to and support humanitarian operations during a disaster on home territory. Joining them were Airmen from the 60th and 349th Air Mobility Wings; Air Military Liaison officers from Fort Carson, Colo., and Fort Hood, Texas; Air National Guard from the Channel Islands, as well as U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton, Calif. In addition to numerous ground equipment, the exercise used C-17 Globemaster III aircraft flown by total force crews from Travis, and the Marines C-130Js and MV-22 Ospreys. Coordination between the services gave the participants the unique opportunity to test their combat skills in a realistic environment. (U.S. Air Force photos/Senior Master Sgt. Ellen Hatfield)
