349th Wing maintenance chief retires after more than 30 years of service

Celebrating 31 years of Air Force service, members of the Travis maintenance community and family attend the retirement ceremony for Chief. Master Sgt. Glenn A Orfitelli, 945th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, May 18, 2014 at Travis Air Force Base, Calif. Chief Orfitelli served in a wide variety of maintenance roles including crew chief, configuration specialist, Aero Repair specialist, jet engine mechanic, aircraft quality assurance inspector, maintenance flight chief and maintenance unit superintendent. In his civilian life, Chief Orfitelli is a senior aviation safety inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration. He was mobilized for Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010. Serving on active duty, as an air reserve technician and ultimately as a traditional reservist. Chief Orfitelli support America's global mobility mission by maintaining the C-141 Starlifter, C-5 Galaxy, KC-10 Extender and the C-17 Globemaster III.
