Santa Claus (alias Technical Sgt. Dan Allen, 349th Medical Squadron) listens to the gift request of a kindergarten child at Anna Kyle Elementary School in Fairfield, Calif., Dec. 14.

Each year, for more than 25 years, the reservists from the 349th Air Mobility Wing have brought joy to local kindergartners through Operation Teddy Bear.

This community outreach project gathers and delivers Teddy bears and gift bags to disadvantaged kindergarten children in local Title 1 schools.

Sponsored by the wing Top Three Group, different squadrons each year share in the preparations and do the bulk of the work.

This year, the 349th Medical Group was the lead unit. Master Sgt. Dana Rhodes, 349th MDG, was this year's event planner and played a key part in coordinating our visiting teams for each of the school visits.  The 349th AMW Honor Guard also participates in the Operation Teddy Bear visits. The school visit schedule for Operation Teddy Bear has wrapped up for this holiday season.

The team visited the following schools: Anna Kyle Elementary School, Fairfield; Markham Elementary School, Vacaville; Anderson Elementary School, Dixon; Lincoln  Elementary School, Vallejo; and the final visit was at Fairview Elementary School in Fairfield, Dec. 17.
