Two generations together to make family history

Two generations of Perrottas came together recently here to make new family history.

Master Sgt. Camillo C. Perrotta, Sr., a reservist with the 349th Maintenance Squadron, was sworn in for his next to last enlistment by 1st Lt. Camillo C. Perrotta, Jr.

Perrotta, Sr., is a first generation immigrant who arrived on America's shores as a teenager, from Naples, Italy. Perrotta, Jr., flew out for the reenlistment from Minot Air Force Base, N.D., where he is assigned as Officer in Charge, Convoy Operations, 791st Missile Security Forces Squadron, Air Force Global Strike Command.

C.J., as the lieutenant is known, and his new bride, Natalie, met while in the Reserve Officer Training Corps in college.

The Perrotta family comes from a long line of military service. Perrotta, Sr.'s father served in the Italian Navy, one brother is a retired U.S. Army Command Sgt. Major, the other brother, a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief, and a nephew is a Naval officer. As a space officer for Air Force Space Command, 2nd Lt. Natalie Perrotta tracks radar systems, and is currently assigned to Thule Air Base, Greenland.
