As a 2008 graduate of Florin High School, Sacramento, Calif, Senior Amn. Bryan Anderson-Wooten, 60th Civil Engineer Squadron here, wanted to properly honor a fallen sister-in-arms and fellow FHS graduate, and he found a very special way to do so.

Sergeant Keicia Coleman-Hines, Class of 1994, was killed Jan. 14, 2004, while deployed to Mosul Airfield, Iraq. Anderson-Wooten not only organized a memorial ceremony Feb. 11, at their alma mater, he also got the girls varsity basketball team to dedicate their game that night, to the memory of Coleman-Hines, who was a former member of the basketball team.

In future, Florin H.S. hopes to put a permanent memorial in a case at the school. "I was compelled to do this because of Sgt. Coleman-Hines military service, and her character out of uniform," said Anderson-Wooten. "She was always there for other soldiers in their time of need. In today's society, most people show little concern for one another, but she was different."
