Col. Stuart Toft, 349th Mission Support Group, passes the 349th Force Support Squadron guidon to Maj. Susan Labrecque, during an assumption of command held here during the Dec. A flight.

Previously, as the operations officer of the 349th Force Support Squadron, Maj. Labrecque provided leadership and guidance to more than 3,100 personnel in the largest associate wing on a myriad of Military Personal, Education and Training, Operations Systems and Airmen & Family Readiness programs.

Maj. Labrecque began her career upon graduation from Basic Military Training in 1986. She was assigned to the 93rd Mission Support Squadron, Kaden Air Base, Okinawa Japan as a Personnel Specialist. Because of her fluency in Castilian she was quickly retrained into Air Traffic Control Operator and assigned to the 2186th Communication Squadron, Torrejon Air Base, Spain.

Maj. Labrecque completed her active duty commitment and transitioned directly to the Air Force Reserves as a C-5 Loadmaster with the 301st Airlift Squadron. Upon completing her Bachelor of Science Degree she was accepted for a commission through the deserving airman program. She was commissioned in 1995 and assigned to the 349th Communications Squadron, as a Communications-Computer Systems Officer and served as Flight Commander. She transferred into the Individual Ready Reserve in 2000 and returned to active Reserve status in 2004. Upon her return she served as the 349th Air Mobility Wing Executive Officer for nearly seven years.

Maj. Labrecque deployed to the 755th Expeditionary Group, Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, as a Future Operations Officer, validating joint expeditionary taskings. Following her deployment she retrained to Force Support Officer and was assigned to her current squadron, the 349th Force Support Squadron.

Maj. Labrecque has been the 349 FSS operations officer for a number of years and was the acting commander for the squadron.
