A Family Tradition

Master Sgt. Charles Yamada, 312th Airlift Squadron flight engineer, poses on the flight line at Travis Air Force Base, California on May 18, 2021. Yamada is a fourth generation military member and his great grandfather was in WWI. "I decided to join the military because of my grandparents,” said Yamada. “My grandfather on my dad’s side was in the Army and went to Europe and fought in World War II. I found out recently that my great-grandfather was also in the Army and served in World War I. I like to say that I’m continuing that legacy of being a proud American.” (Photo by Senior Airman Brady Penn)
