Tech. Sgt. Lisa Gonzales-Marin, 349th Aerospace Medical Squadron medical technician, administers a COVID-19 vaccination to Master Sgt. Julian Recendez, 349th Force Support Squadron training manager, at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, California, on Feb. 26, 2021. Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 349th Air Mobility Wing received their first COVID-19 vaccine during the March drill weekend. Each member receiving the vaccine was monitored for development of side effects and waited 15 minutes after getting the vaccine before they were allowed to leave. The two-dose vaccine was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration under an emergency use authorization and are currently offered to Defense Department personnel on a voluntary basis. Reservists receiving the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine will receive their second dosage 28 days after receiving the first dosage. (U.S. Air Force courtesy photo/Released)
