Vaca Jazz Festival
For the past 18 years, the Vaca Jazz Festival, Vacaville, Calif., has wrapped up four days of free music events with a military tribute, featuring the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West "Commanders" Jazz Ensemble. The Nut Tree Plaza was the backdrop for that finale Sept. 17, 2017, and invited guests included leaders from nearby Travis Air Force Base. Speaking on behalf of the Citizen Airmen of the 349th Air Mobility Wing was Vice Commander, Col. Adrian White, who emphasized how important the support of the community was to the reservists at Travis, who live and work locally, while serving globally. (U.S. Air Force photo/Ellen Hatfield)
