HCC tours MSG

Travis Honorary Commanders got a look behind the scenes of some of the Mission Support Group squadrons on the final 2016 group tour Dec. 2. After lunch at the Sierra Inn Dining Facility, about 25 HCCs reported to the Personnel Deployment Function line at building P1, as they prepared to deploy to the mythical land of TRAFCstan. At TRAFCstan, they participated in hands-on firing – safely done – of the M4 rifle and M9 pistol, let by Security Forces. They learned about the Explosive Ordinance Disposal equipment, and how to spot explosive devices, and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Survival Skills using CBRN protective equipment. At the Emergency Operations Center, Mr. Mark Wilson talked about emergency management at home station and in the war zone. Their final stop was the Telephone Operator Consolidate Call Center of the West, a unique center that employs disabled personnel who use specialized software to support telephone operations for three major commands. Participating 349th Air Mobility Wing HCCs were Mr. Chris Dage, HCC for Wing Commander, Col. Raymond Kozak, Mr. Monte Hoover, HCC for Col. Jeff Pickard, 349th Maintenance Group commander, Mrs. Kelly Placeres, HCC to Col. Adrian White, 349th AMW vice commander, and Mr. George Kennedy, HCC to Lt. Col. Keith Whitehouse, 70th Air Refueling Wing commander. The Change of Command Ceremony for the 2017 HCCs will be February 2, 2017, in Hangar 837. (U.S. Air Force photos/Ellen Hatfield/released)
