ROTC
TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- All ears: While waiting for the aircraft preflight inspection to be finished up, Staff Sgt. Charles Cummings, loadmaster for the 301st Airlift Squadron, Travis Air Force Base, passes the time answering questions for some very curious Reserve Officers’ Training Corps students anxiously awaiting their orientation flight on the newest aircraft in the Air Force inventory, the C-17 Globemaster III. Sergeant Cummings, who himself was a ROTC member, was instrumental in organizing the flight for the four North California high schools who attended: Vanden High School, Fairfield; Hiram Johnson High School, Sacramento; Armijo High School, Fairfield; and Highlands High School, North Highlands.
