349th Family Readiness

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Master Sgt. Heath Rickling (right) with the 349th Airmen and Family Readiness Center, Travis Air Force Base, receives a letter of appreciation from the commander of the 349th Air Mobility Wing, Col. Maryanne Miller, for his part in making the Step Forward Cure for Tuberculosis Walkathon a success. The event, held in Lagoon Valley in Vacaville on Sept. 20, 2008, was a fundraiser to find a cure for tuberculosis, and raised over $50,000 with over 100 local businesses participating. Sergeant Rickling volunteered to monitor the safety of the 200 runners and 150 walkers during the day. “I think this was a great experience, being part of an event where people were taking their Saturday to do something good for others,” he said.
