301st AS Air Medals
TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Members of 301st Airlift Squadron bring home the Air Medals: During the 301st AS Commander’s Call in April, Brig. Gen. (Sel) Maryanne Miller (third from left), Commander of the 349th Air Mobility Wing, Travis Air Force Base, stands with five Air Medal winners while the citation is read to the audience. Those presented with a medal are from right to left: Technical Sgt. Charles Cummings, C-17 Loadmaster; Senior Master Sgt. Jenn LePore, C-17 Loadmaster; Senior Master Sgt. Jim Benson, C-17 Loadmaster; Lt. Col. David DeGarve, C-17 pilot and Lt. Col. Mike Casebeer, C-17 pilot. The Air Medal (photo inset) was established during WWII and is awarded for single acts of heroism or meritorious achievements while participating in aerial flight.
