349th CES
TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Meet one of the newest Airmen joining the 349th Air Mobility Wing: Amn. William D. Wonnell received a surprise visit Sun., May 2, from Col. Barrett Broussard, vice wing commander, during the 349th Civil Engineer Squadron end of the duty day formation. Airman Wonnell, a fire fighter, just returned from his training at the Louis F. Garland Fire Academy, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas. Col. Broussard presented him three certificates. The first named him an honor graduate from AF Basic Military Training. The second was the Ace Award from the fire academy, for his 100% score on the Airport Firefighter certification test. The third certificate came from Air Education and Training Command, certifying him as "top graduate for superior academic achievement and high standards of leadership, teamwork and character." Col. Broussard also presented Amn. Wonnell with his personal Wing coin. Amn. Wonnell graduated basic in January, and the fire academy Apr. 22, 2010. (U.S. Air Force photo/Senior Master Sgt. Ellen L.
