TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Chief Master Sgt. Bryan A. Payne has been selected as the new command chief master sergeant of the 349th Air Mobility Wing. He will be the primary
adviser to the commander and senior staff on all enlisted issues including the health, welfare, morale, mission effectiveness and proper utilization of
more than 3,000 Citizen Airmen assigned to the wing.
Chief Payne entered the U.S. Army in 1986 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He joined the Air Force Reserve as a traditional reservist in 1993 at Seymour Johnson
Air Force Base, North Carolina.
The chief has served in a variety of positions including firefighter, communications systems operator, first sergeant and superintendent. He has
supported or been deployed throughout his career for campaigns to include Operation Joint Forge, Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring Freedom and
Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Before assuming his current position, he served as command chief master sergeant of the 934th Airlift Wing, Minneapolis-St. Paul International
Airport Air Reserve Station, Minnesota.
In his civilian capacity, he is a communications solutions architect with a national technology corporation.
Chief Payne succeeds Chief Master Sgt. Ericka E. Kelly, who assumed duties as command chief master sergeant of the Air Force Reserve Command last
month.
