Travis leaders at historic ground-breaking for Fisher House

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Travis Air Force Base leaders and local dignitaries turned out Nov. 13 for the historic ground-breaking for a second Fisher House next to the David Grant Medical Center.

Endowed by Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher, the Fisher Houses provide a home away from home for families with loved ones being treated at military medical facilities.

The first Travis Fisher House has been 100 percent full since 2009, with a waiting list as
well. Completion of the Fisher House II is slated for 2014.
