The 349th Air Mobility Wing Chaplain's Annual Holiday Food Drive has wrapped-up for another holiday season with a food donation tally of more than 1300 pounds to help feed those in need in the local area.

Senior Master Sgt. Rita Houchin, Superintendent of the Chaplain's office, was on hand to gather all the bins and get the food loaded onto the truck headed to the mission.

"It has been a very challenging year economically for many people," Houchin said. "Although this year wasn't the highest total (in pounds of food) I am still very proud. Even with the furloughs and other issues, the men and women of the 349th continue to be very generous."

The Chaplains office had a little help in making this year's drive special when Britney Cipolla, Airmen and Family Readiness Center director, stepped in with a big box of donated toys. There were stocking stuffers, along with books, puzzles, small dolls, coloring books and stuffed animals.

"The mission folks were extremely happy - being able to add the donated toys really did make this year's drive a success," Houchin added.

The 349th Air Mobility Wing chaplain's have hosted a wing food drive since 2002.

The need for donations continues thought out the year. For squadrons who want to know how to help or would like information on organizing a food drive, contact the Wing Chaplain's office at 707-424-0308.
