349th Air Mobility Wing Chaplain Assistant is a winner Published May 13, 2014 By Senior Master Sgt. Robert Wade 349th Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Staff Sgt. Danielle R. Williams, chaplain assistant to the 349 AMW chaplain's office, was recently honored as the winner of the 2013 Air Force Chaplain Corps Annual Citizen Airman Award (Cat A/B Reserve Chaplain Assistant). Maj. Gen. Howard D. Stendahl, Air Force Chief of Chaplains, recognized Williams in an April 4, 2014 memo as one who exemplifies the Chaplain Corps vision of "Glorifying God, Serving Airmen and Pursuing Excellence." Williams has been assigned to the 349th AMW chaplain office since 2004, joining the wing upon graduating from her technical training at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. Williams has been a highly engaged reservist, participating in several Operational Readiness Exercises and an Operational Readiness Inspection. Earlier this year, she deployed to Southwest Asia, where she served 1,783 assigned personnel and 36,000 transient forces. A willing volunteer who is a gracious listener with an infectious laugh and lively sense of humor, Williams continues to excel in the wing, as she is currently working towards earning her Community College of the Air Force degree.
