349th Wing KC-10 pilot retires after 26 years of service

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --  Lt. Col. Jeffrey Whiteman, a KC-10 pilot with the 70th Air Refueling Squadron, retired after 26 years of service, June 21, 2014. During the retirement ceremony at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., Whiteman thanked his friends, family, peers and mentors for all of their support throughout his extensive military career. Whiteman said his passion for flying initially came from watching his mother, who worked as a flight attendant for United Airlines for approximately 30 years.
