Robert Couse-Baker 349th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Air Force has nominated three former members of the 349th Air Mobility Wing for promotion to general officer grades, the Air Force Reserve Command News Service announced Feb. 6, 2015. Brig. Gen. John C. Flournoy, Jr., 4th Air Force commander, March Air Reserve Base, Calif., has been nominated for promotion to the rank of major general. General Flournoy was previously a commander of the 349th Air Mobility Wing. Brig. Gen. Abel Barrientes, mobilization assistant to the Pacific Air Forces vice commander, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, has been nominated for promotion to the rank of major general. General Barrientes was previously a vice commander of the 349th Air Mobility Wing. Col. John B. Williams, mobilization assistant to the director of strategic plans, requirements and programs, Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Ill., has been nominated for promotion to the rank of brigadier general. Col. Williams was previously a vice commander of the 349th Air Mobility Wing. The promotions are subject to confirmation by the Senate. Brig. Gen. Kenneth D. Lewis, Jr., 349th Operations Group commander from May 2005 to April 2008, now deputy director for partnership strategy/trans-regional policy, Joint Staff, Pentagon, was nominated for promotion to major general.
