349th Wing Recruiter retires after 26 years of service Published July 9, 2015 By Ellen Hatfield 349th AMW Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Family and friends gathered June 27, 2015, at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., to celebrate the career of Master Sgt. John M. Erzen, as he retired from the Air Force Reserve. Fifteen of his more than 26 years were served in recruiting, prior to which he was a security forces specialist. During his service, he was assigned to Howard Air Base, Panama, Kirtland AFB, N.M., the Air Reserve Personnel Center, Schriever AFB and Peterson AFB, all in Colorado, and here. A native of Colorado Springs, Colo., Erzen finished out his career as an in service recruiter, and was recognized as a top performer, bringing 714 people into the Reserve. Maj. Ross Vedder, Eastern Recruiting Squadron commander, presided over the ceremony, supported by the 349th Air Mobility Wing Recruiting Squadron.
