349th Maintenance community honors member after serving 33 years Published Aug. 5, 2015 By Ellen Hatfield 349 AMW Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 349th Air Mobility Wing maintenance community turned out to honor Senior Master Sgt. Richard "Randy" Robb at his retirement July 25, 2015, after serving 33 years. The native of "beautiful, downtown Burbank," California was roundly roasted - all in fun - by his fellow maintainers, from presiding officer, 349th Maintenance Squadron Commander, Lt. Col. Daniel Counts, to master of ceremonies, SMSgt. Daniel Willson, and a host of presenters. Robb was ribbed and lauded at the same time, for his tenacity, work ethic, and unfiltered candor, and being a champion for his junior Airmen. A career maintainer, his stellar career took him from New Hampshire, to the United Kingdom, to Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Shield in 1990, back to California. He enjoyed many temporary duty assignments to exotic locations, such as Korea, the U.K. again, Missouri, Idaho, New Mexico and Nevada. He also deployed to Turkey and Guam in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and supported the Afghanistan surge in 2010. One tradition he will continue with his Team Travis partners is a yearly trek to anchor a 12-person team to run the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey 178 mile relay race. Congratulations, Sergeant Robb! You will be missed.
