349th Medical Squadron member retires after 20 years of service Published Sept. 1, 2015 By Senior Airman Madelyn Brown 349th Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Master Sgt. Michael D. Galbraith, 349th Medical Squadron, retires from Travis Air Force Base after more than 20 years of service Aug. 23, 2015. Galbraith served here at the 349th Air Mobility Wing (Reserve), which is the largest associate wing in the United States Air Force Reserve. 349th AMW personnel fly the C-5 Galaxy, C-17 Globemaster III and KC-10 Extender. The missions of the wing's aircrews include airlifting personnel and material worldwide as well as aerial refueling a wide variety of aircraft. The mission of the 349th AMW is to "provide combat ready Airmen and expeditionary support to the war fighter." This makes the wing responsible for training almost 3,300 Reservists who, in turn, work side-by-side their active duty counterparts in the 60th AMW, also stationed at Travis.
