TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 349th Air Mobility Wing (AMW) will be offering a taste of its Air Force Reserve mission during the annual Reserve Experience event Sunday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Travis Air Force Base, California.
The Experience offers students, community influencers and other guests an opportunity to get up close and personal with the C-5 Galaxy, C-17 Globemaster and KC-46A Pegasus aircraft. Demonstrations, giveaways and a taco lunch with the Airmen that keep these aircraft flying will be featured.
Open to the first 100 people to sign up, this is an opportunity for the wing to engage with the local community and inspire influencers to promote more than 100 part-time, full-time, and civil service opportunities at Travis Air Force Base and recruit the next generation of Air and Space Force Guardians. To sign up, visit https://afreserve.org/travis-air-experience.
For participants without base access, free parking is available at Fairfield-Vacaville Amtrak Station, 4921 Vanden Road, Fairfield, California. Shuttle busses will leave the station parking lot promptly at 8:00 a.m.
The 349th AMW, located at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., is the largest associate wing in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. More than 2,700 reservists and civilian personnel are assigned to the wing. With the arrival of the KC-46A Pegasus at Travis AFB in 2023, the 349th AMW flies it along with the C-5 Super Galaxy and C-17 Globemaster III. Currently, it is the only Air Force Reserve unit that flies three weapons systems as well as having an aeromedical mission.
