TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --

Col. Scott McLaughlin, incoming 349th Air Mobility Wing commander, was introduced during a change of command ceremony at Travis Air Force Base, California, on June 1 during the drill weekend. McLaughlin is scheduled to assumed command of the unit on June 9.

McLaughlin, currently the 4th Air Force director of staff, will assume command of the Wing from Col. Raymond Kozak, outgoing 349th AMW commander. Kozak is slated to replace McLaughlin at 4th AF.

In his departing statements, Kozak thanked all the Airmen for their hard work and dedication, and reminded them to continue to “Be O.P.”

McLaughlin is a former Group commander of the 349th, having served as the Operations Group commander from April 2013 to August 2014.

“I am thrilled to be back with the 349th,” McLaughlin said. “Travis is truly the crown jewel of the United States Air Force. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.”

Col. Robert Blake, 4th Air Force vice commander, presided over the ceremony and also awarded Kozak a Legion of Merit for his exemplary leadership of the 349th AMW.

Blake lauded both leaders. “For most officers, being a wing commander is a stretch goal. For these two, they will have accomplished this twice.”
