Along America's highways and by-ways, Blue Star Memorial markers have been placed since World War II. October 21st the 349th Air Mobility Wing reservists were there for the dedication of marker in Fairfield, placed by the Geranium City Garden Club.

Standing behind the new marker are, from the left: Miss Avylonne "Avie" Messerli, project coordinator, Senior Master Sgt. Peter Briggs, 312th Airlift Squadron operations superintendent, Senior Master Sgt. Dave Lafferty, 312th AS load master superintendent, and Tech. Sgt. Glenn Corbett, 312th AS flight operations manager.

Several other Team Travis Airmen attended the dedication as well. The National Garden Clubs, Inc., of America, administer the Blue Star Marker program. There is at least one marker in every one of the 50 states, and California has well over 100 of them.
