349th Wing commander makes a final 'splash'

Brig. Gen. Maryanne Miller, the 349th Air Mobility Wing commander, gets a thorough hosing down at the conclusion of her fini flight here, Nov 9.

Gen. Miller conducted her last flight was the wing commander on the Spirit of the Golden Bear, a C-17 Globemaster III assigned at Travis.

The Chief of Air Force Reserve announced Oct. 1 the next assignment for the Brig. Gen. Maryanne Miller, commander, 349th Air Mobility Wing. General Miller will assume duties as Director of Programs and Requirements, Office of the Air Force Reserve, Headquarters United States Air Force, at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

Col. John C. Flournoy, who has been named to take command of the 349th Wing, is currently the commander of the 932nd Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve Command, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. He will become the 23rd commander of the 349th since the unit was established in 1943 at the change of command ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 15.
