Brent Dost, an air reserve technician with the 349th Maintenance Squadron, works on a C-5C with, right, Staff Sgt. Dan Louden, 60th Maintenance Squadron, and Mr. Tom Chalmers, a Department of Defense civilian. What started out as a small repair on the aircraft grew into major repairs with the discovery of corrosion and cracks underneath the "skin." This C-5C Galaxy, one of only two in Air Force inventory, is specially modified to support shuttle missions for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Both aircraft are housed at Travis.
