Time is counting down until email migration begins Published July 8, 2010 By 60th Communications Squadron Communications Focal Point TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The email migration team will begin migrating supported computer and network users into the Air Force Network beginning July 15. Migrating into the new system will increase network security, reduce operational cost, and standardize e-mail addresses. Please refer to the Migration Users Toolbox for the most current updates, information, and migration related advisories. When will I be migrated? --Units will be migrated in phases (blocks) --- Users will be notified of specific dates/times with an email notice at 72 hours and 24 hours prior to migration --While the base migration is projected to take two months, your individual migration can occur anytime within that window. For planning purposes, future notices will outline progress and your specific migration date. What can I do to prepare? --Reduce the size of your mailbox! Move older emails to a locally stored personal folder. Accounts exceeding size limits will be unable to send/receive messages --Practice good information management, read all "Help Desk" related email messages What if I'm TDY, on leave, or deployed? --You will still be migrated, and can access your email. Please contact your local Communications Focal Point at 707-424-2666 for more information.
