Get the word out - no need for alarm during base exercise Published Nov. 3, 2010 By 349th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Please ensure all personnel assigned to Travis and their families that may live on or near the base are aware that during this base exercise, Nov. 3-5, there will be many ground burst simulators, smoke grenades and "GIANT VOICE" announcements used. These will be used both during the day and night for this exercise. Usually in the normal base response exercises, there might be just one or two GBS "explosions" with smoke and GV announcements during the day. The GBSs and GV can be loud and the sound does carry quite farther during the night. To prevent any panic or anxiety for, please spread the word.
