Team Travis commanders were out in force, in service dress, Feb. 13, to honor former Vacaville Mayor, Len Augustine, as he was inducted into the Nut Tree Plaza Wall of Fame.

The crowd of friends and family wore "We Love(heart) Len" buttons and big smiles as they listened to tributes to the former mayor. Col. John Lipinski, vice commander, 15th Expeditionary Mobility Task Force, shakes hands with owner Rick Capretta. Col. John Payne, vice commander, 615th Contingency Response Wing, Col. James Vechery, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander, and Col. Jay Flournoy, commander, 349th AMW were also there to take the time to thank him for all his support of Travis Airmen.

Mr. Augustine was a driving force behind the revitalization of the Nut Tree Plaza, once closed, to the thriving park and shopping plaza it is today. With his help, future plans provide for further expansion and hopefully, an events center behind the Nut Tree. Former Mayor Augustine's plaque is in a prominent position on the wall, right underneath another well known and colorful personality dear to Solano County, Bozo the Clown.
