Traffic delays surround Travis AFB - minimum impact on UTAs Published June 26, 2012 By 349th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Motorists can continue to expect intermittent traffic delays along Air Base Parkway for the next few months as the City of Fairfield Public Works Department restores damaged pavement. Both eastbound and westbound lanes of Air Base Parkway will be affected between Peabody Road and I-80. Work will occur between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday. One lane of traffic will be maintained through the work zone for the duration of the project. Traffic delays are likely, especially in the morning before 9 a.m. PG&E will be doing work along Petersen Road that will impact Travis AFB traffic, especially motorist coming through the South Gate and traffic that turns off HWY 12 onto Walters, in July. Work will be done between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. but there may be some late days. Pintail Drive from Sunset Avenue to Blackspur Drive will be partially closed to allow road construction crews to do street grinding and repaving work, according to the Suisun City Public Works Department. This work is part of the larger Pintail Drive Rehabilitation Project that will do significant sidewalk and curb work, some road repair and a complete road resurfacing of Pintail Drive between Sunset Avenue and Emperor Drive. Eastbound traffic will be allowed through with occasional diversions to another lane while westbound traffic will be detoured around the work. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes and to park on side streets during the construction work. The entire Pintail rehabilitation project is expected to be done by late November, depending on weather conditions. There will also be intermittent road work on CA-12 between left turn pocket and Pennsylvania Ave. until Aug 30, 2012 Motorists are asked to be aware, plan accordingly and allow extra travel time during these traffic projects.
