Brig. Gen. John C. Flournoy, Jr., was ambushed with a "faux fini-flight," Jan. 26, the day before handing the command of the 349th Air Mobility Wing over to Col. Matthew J. Burger.

The fini flight is an Air Force tradition where aircrew, on completion of their final flight in an aircraft type, are usually met on arrival and hosed with water by their comrades before being toasted with well wishes.

Flournoy headed to Buckley Air Force Base, Colo., to serve as the Commander of the Headquarters Air Reserve Personnel Center.
