A reservist with the 349th Air Mobility Wing was awarded a prestigious top prize at the Oct. 24, 2018 Airman Leadership School graduation.

Senior Amn. Catherine Lubbe, 55th Aerial Port Squadron, was named the John Levitow Award winner, as the top graduate of the class.

At the last ALS graduation Aug. 22, another 349th AMW reservist, SrA Nichole Savard, 349th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, captured the same coveted prize.

Wing Commander, Col. Raymond Kozak, was there to present the award to Lubbe.

The John Levitow Award is named for loadmaster, Airman First Class John L. Levitow, the lowest ranking man in the Air Force to receive the Medal of Honor for acts of heroism while serving on board an AC-47, Spooky 71, during the Vietnam War. The award is the highest honor presented to a graduate of Air Force Enlisted Professional Military Education, including ALS, Noncommissioned Officer Academy and Senior NCO Academy.
