Team Travis Airmen marched in parade, support community event
TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --
May 12, 2018 marked the 143rd year of the Dixon Mayfair Parade, California’s longest running State affiliated parade and fair. A group of about 50 Travis Air Force Base Airmen marched in the parade behind the Travis Honor Guard to the delight of the clapping and whistling crowd, excitedly waving small American flags, shouting out, “Thank you for your service.” Capt. Gary Olkowski, 60th Operations Support Squadron, led the formation of Airmen from the 60th and 349th Operations Groups.
Representing the Reserve’s 349th OG, Commander Col. Travis Rowley, and for the 60th OG was Lt. Col. Cory Cook. Between waving for the crowd, they shook hands with veterans and families and “high fived” smiling children. Dixon Mayfair is the first of four annual parades Airmen from Travis AFB participate in yearly.
