Travis Air Force Base, Calif. -- The 349th Operations Group Aviation Resource Management team was recognized as Outstanding Large Unit ARM Team of the year for 2016 by Air Force Reserve Command.
“This recognition is well deserved,” said Maj. Gen. John Flournoy, 4th Air Force commander.
Aviation resource managers maintain flight records, validate aircraft safety, monitor daily flight mission data and establish schedules for aircrew training. This careful documentation ensures aircrews are ready for global mobility missions.
"Our Aviation Resource Management folks work long hours and have clearly demonstrated the professionalism, leadership and consistent performance to be recognized as AFRC's Outstanding ARM Large Unit of the Year," said Lt. Col. Vincent Durant, 70th Air Refueling Squadron director of operations.
The 349th OG team helped ensure the success of 731 missions, 1,451 sorties, 19,146 flying hours; delivering 12,465 tons of cargo, 11,852 passengers and more than 8.6 million pounds of fuel.
"The 349th OG aviation resource managers are so deserving of this recognition,” said Senior Master Sgt. Deborah Fowlston, 301st Airlift Squadron ARM superintendent. “Their tireless efforts, supporting three airframes and the Wing Operations Center, play a vital role in keeping our crews flying, safely, and as the wing's exercise focal point. They are a phenomenal group of young men and women, who rally as a team to get the job done.”
