Operation Give Thanks - 349th's annual pilgrimage Published Dec. 1, 2016 By Ellen Hatfield, 349th Public Affairs 349 AMW TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- For more years than we can count, reservists with the 349th Air Mobility Wing have been making an annual pilgrimage to the California Veterans Home, Yountville, to help serve the Thanksgiving meal. A chance to visit, and share with all those who sacrificed and served, paving the way for future military generations, is priceless.About 80 volunteers showed up Thanksgiving Day, spreading around warmth and joy, listening to stories, sometimes shedding tears, and giving lots of hugs.If you couldn't make it this year, please think about joining us next year. If you are looking for another volunteer opportunity coming up, Friday, Dec. 2, a group of Travis Airmen will travel to the Home for Operation Holiday Cheer, another yearly event.
