The Great ShakeOut drill
The Great ShakeOut drill, designed to educate the public on how to react in case of an earthquake, takes place Oct. 15. There will be no physical drill conducted on Defense Supply Center Richmond this year due to the current COVID-19 environment, but information will be sent out via a system broadcast the day of the event. The Defense Supply Center Richmond Installation Emergency Management Plan recommends the following actions if you are inside a building when an earthquake strikes: drop to the ground; take cover by getting under a sturdy table or another piece of furniture; and hold on until the shaking stops.
