Default Air Force Logo Wing food drive kicks-off - you ‘can’ make a difference
The 349th Air Mobility Wing Chaplain Corps is beginning the 2009 Annual Food Drive earlier this year with the hopes of making our largest holiday donation ever. The plan is that we will be collecting food between September A-Flight and December B-Flight. Did you realize that if every member of our Wing brought in just one can to donate we would

Default Air Force Logo Celebrating Women's History
It may stand to reason that sometime ones best reference points would be from their personal history, their own story. As I thought about my military story, it became clear that my story is one to tell, but would not be possible without those who came before me. As I thought more about the significant contributions women in the military have made,

The event, held in Lagoon Valley in Vacaville on Sept. 20, 2008, was a fundraiser to find a cure for tuberculosis, and raised over $50,000 with over 100 local businesses participating. Sergeant Rickling volunteered to monitor the safety of the 200 runners and 150 walkers during the day.
“I think this was a great experience, being part of an event where people were taking their Saturday to do something good for others,” he said. (U.S. Air Force photo by Master Sgt. Wendy Weidenhamer) 349th Wing keeps on giving

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Members of the 349th Air Mobility Wing donated more than 4,230 pounds of food to help feed the hungry this past Christmas season as part of the annual Wing Chaplain’s Holiday Food Drive.
The recipient of this year’s annual Holiday Food Drive donation benefited the Mission Solano Food Bank, Dec 23. (Pictured left to right: Staff Sgt. Michael W. Pierce, 349th Chaplain office, Mr. Jaun H. Tomelloso, Mr. Jerry Monckton and Mr. Terry Irons, Mission Solano Food Bank)
The need for donations continues throughout the year. Individual groups or squadrons who want to organize a unit project should contact the Wing Chaplain’s office at (707) 424-0308, for more information about how best to help. My sincerest thanks to all of the members of the 349th Air Mobility Wing on a very successful 2008 Holiday Canned Food Drive. We received 4230 pounds of food. The first 3000 was given to Mission Solano last week and the rest will be delivered this week. The Director of Mission Solano said that they used the food that the 349th donated to fix meals

Time at the airport these days can be stressful and days can be long. But, one organization located inside the Travis Air Force Base passenger terminal would like to make time spent there a little more enjoyable. Walk down a narrow hallway in the terminal and near the end a small red, white and blue sign hanging from the ceiling announces USO. Step
