Growing up as a child, one Airman from the 349th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, watched her father as he prepared his Air Force flight suit and luggage for a trip, and knew he was going somewhere important to make a difference. She wanted to ensure she did the same one day.

Hicks, an air transportation journeyman at the 82nd Aerial Port Squadron, also studied for an hour or two before bed each night while deployed. He eventually felt prepared to pass the exams, which he did while still overseas. He completed the paperwork to receive his certification, leaving him excited to go home and begin a new career. But returning from deployment would prove to be a difficult transition for Hicks and his family.

As we close out the year 2015, some people will make New Year’s resolutions. Others take a moment to reflect on a proud accomplishment from this year. The 349th public affairs team was finding out who has made a New Year’s resolution, or who was proud of making a difference for the greater good, even one person, in the past year.
