COLONEL MEREDITH A. GOODWIN

Colonel Meredith A. Goodwin is Commander of the 349th Medical Group, one of the four groups assigned to the Air Force Reserve Command’s 349th Air Mobility Wing, located at Travis Air Force Base, California. As commander, she is responsible for the operations of three Reserve medical units: the 349th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, the 349th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, and the 349th Medical Squadron. She is the principle medical advisor to the 349th Wing Commander, Travis Air Force Base, Calif.

Col. Goodwin was born in Detroit, Mich. She graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, N.Y. Doctor Goodwin completed residency training in Family Medicine at University of California Los Angeles, Los Angeles, Calif. After two years working for Kaiser Permanente in Southern California, she was recruited to join the residency faculty at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa. From there she was asked to join the residency faculty at Brown University, where she co-founded one of the first Family Medicine rotations for medical students on the East Coast. Since that time, she has served on several medical faculties, including being founding faculty at Central Michigan University College of Medicine. She received her commission as a Reserve Medical Officer in 2003 and has served as an operational and expeditionary flight surgeon, and more recently as Commander, 932nd Medical Squadron, Scott Air Force Base, Ill.
