Air Reserve members, family and friends gathered to celebrate as Lt. Col. Kevin Snow assumed command of the 349th Operations Group during a ceremony at Travis Air Forces Base, Calif., on Jan. 7, 2023.

The ceremony was presided by Col. Lee Merkle, commander of the 349th Air Mobility Wing, who offered praise for Snow’s leadership capabilities.

“I truly trust his leadership,” said Merkle. “He’s an extraordinary officer, perfect for this command with an impressive record. I know he’ll give one hundred percent to the very end.”

This is just the latest leadership opportunity for Snow, as he has also served as the 349th Operations Group deputy commander. Snow has also flown missions in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn, and Inherent Resolve. Now, Snow is excited to add command of the 349th Operations Group to his experiences.

“This is an amazing operations group,” said Snow. “I’m amazed at the dedication and participation of our folks. It gives us that true combat credibility and allows us to be the strategic depth of our nation.”
