Maj. Charles Marquez accepts the 82nd Aerial Port Squadron guidon from Col. Roderick T. Grunwald, 349th Mission Support Group commander, during an assumption of command ceremony at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., Oct. 14, 2017. The passing of the guidon is a traditional military custom symbolizing the assumption of command, thereby signifying Marquez’s new role as the 82nd APS commander.
